21st Century Community Learning Centers
|
Hi! My name is Ms. Scapellato, but I go by Ms. S. This is my fourth year as our school's 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC), Site Manager. I am here to coordinate the extra academic support that our program offers in before and after school during tutoring. As much as I love our tutoring program, you may often find me also providing "extra support" helping out with our Enrichment programs like Art of Step (AOS) and Cheer.

The purpose of Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant Program is to establish community-learning and provide academic enrichment opportunities along with activities designed to complement the students’ regular academic program after school. The program offers students literacy and related educational development. The high quality services, support student learning and development, including tutoring and mentoring, homework help, academic enrichment (such as hands-on science or technology programs), and community service opportunities, as well as music, arts, sports and cultural activities. At the same time, centers help working parents by providing a safe environment for students during non-school hours or periods when school is not in session.
